ORDER ENTRY SCREEN
This screen facilitates order entry, order cancellation, order modification
and quote retrieval.
Data Display
The display grid shows all working orders, cancels, modifications
(cancel/ replaces) and fills. The “Working Only” toggle button allows
switching between “Show All” view mode and “Show Working Only” view
mode. The “Show All” mode displays all account activity, including
working orders, cancels, modifications and fills. The “Show Working
Only” view mode will show only the unfilled working orders for the
account.
Most of the field definitions in the display grid are self-explanatory.
Those requiring explanation include:
• Status (STATUS): Indicates whether the order is working (WKNG),
cancelled (CXL) or modified (CXLR). Canceled orders that have been
“confirmed out” are denoted by (CXL OUT). Filled orders are denoted
by “filled.”
• Cancel Number (CXL): Order number of the cancel order.
Note that partially filled orders result in a partially working
order as well as a partial fill. For example, consider a 5-contract
order that has 1 contract reported as filled. This results in the
order quantity displayed as “wkng 4 of 5” with a status of “WKNG.”
The 1-contract fill would simply be displayed as a fill with a quantity
of 1.
Order Creation and Placement
Create an order using the pull-down and text boxes located at the
top of screen. Once there is enough information entered to satisfy
the requirements for a valid order, click the “Submit” button at
the bottom of the form. This action will display the Order Verification
screen, which displays the order information provided on the Order
Entry screen. At this time, you can “proofread” the order information
prior to order submittal. Once satisfied with the order information,
click the “Transmit” button to submit the order.
