ORDER ENTRY SCREEN

Quick Quotes
Quick Quotes can be displayed automatically or by request. A “quick quote,” representing a real-time snapshot quote, will be displayed automatically as soon as sufficient contract information has been entered into the order entry pull-down and text boxes.

To obtain a quick quote by request, enter the contract information into the quick-quote text box and click the “Quick Quote” button.

The syntax for requesting a quick quote is:

CCMY [P/C][STRIKE]
Double-letter commodity code, contract month, contract year (put/call)
(strike price)

C MY^[P/C][STRIKE]
Single-letter commodity code (space), contract month, contract year (put/call)
(strike price)

Please note that : (1) one-character codes, such as “C” or “S,” require a space to be included. This is in contrast to entering contract information using the Xpress Line for trade entry, where a space is not allowed in the contract, month, and year specification; and (2) the Put or Call indicator is before the strike price; for Xpress Line trade entry, the Put or Call indicator is after the strike price.

Quick Quotes can be displayed showing only the last tick and net change, or they can be displayed showing more detailed quote information. To see detailed information, check the “Full Quote” check box before clicking the “Quick Quote” button.

If you do not specify the contact month and year for a quick quote, you will receive a quote for the front-month contract.
