OVERVIEW
Vision Xpress is a real-time trading application that allows traders
to use the Internet to access their trading accounts to place and
maintain orders, obtain status on working orders, check balances,
view positions, check for filled trades, retrieve quotes and surf
the Web. The software can be downloaded directly from the Vision
website.
The software features a variety of order-entry modes, including
pull-down and text box entry, typed orders (Xpress Line) and point-and
click order creation. Users of the software should have a basic
understanding of futures and options trading, as such material will
not be covered in this reference guide.
The system uses a variety of screens to display and request information.
These screens are used to display positions, filled trades, account
activity, parked orders, quotes, funds and user preferences. Additional
screens include the Quick-Quote pop-up screen and the Order Verification
screen.
Vision Xpress features a real-time fill-notification system. Fills
are sent to your screen via a pop-up fill-notification box as soon
as the fill is received. In some instances, fills can be returned
in 1-3 seconds.
Data for funds, fills, orders, quotes, parked orders, and positions
are displayed throughout the system using custom-sizable grids.
Most data elements are color-coded to indicate the business functionality
of the data. For example, buy orders are displayed with a blue font,
while sell orders use a red font. Similarly, market quotes use color-coding
to indicate whether a quote is positive or negative.
The various order-entry modes are designed to fit various trading
conditions. For example, a user watching quotes for a given market
can instantly create an order by simply clicking on the quote once
the market reaches the desired price. Or, a user can easily summarize
open positions and liquidate any one of them by simply pointing
to and then double-clicking on the position in the Positions screen.
